As promised, posts from now till Christmas will feature all things festive. This one is no exception, as The Regent Singapore takes centre stage in today's entry.
A Season of Cheer
From now till December 27, stop by SomethingToGo, the hotel's drive-through gourmet delicatessen, and enjoy its turkey, ham and baked salmon sets with salad, pasta, wine and traditional trimmings. You can also try its delectable desserts, such as Italian Panforte (S$32), Cream Cheese Mousse with Sultana Yule Log (S$55) and English Fruitcake (S$45). If you're looking for a unique and luxurious gift, the Basilico Hamper (S$420) would be a great choice, with its delightful combination of premium Italian sparkling wine, extra virgin olive oil, freshly baked desserts, dried fruit and cheese.
Also, from December 15 to 31, visit The Tea Lounge at the hotel, where one can relax and unwind while indulging in its wide array of teatime treats. Choose from freshly baked sandwiches, savoury items, pastries, teacakes, coffee, English tea and hot chocolate, as well as festive additions like stollen and panettone, all of which are available for just S$36++ per person.
Christmas Eve
Eat your fill at Basilico, The Regent Singapore's main restaurant. Its three Italian chefs have in store a seven-course set menu ($176++ per person) featuring fresh premium ingredients like Piedmont porcini, tiger prawns, lobster, wagyu steak, cheeses and homemade pastries. Alternatively, guests can witness a live cooking demonstration with the Chef’s Table Dinner Degustation Menu, whose highlights include champagne-poached king scallop, Italian white truffle risotto, Angus beef and seared foie gras ($240++ per person, maximum 12 persons per class).
The Tea Lounge also has its Afternoon Tea Buffet, where local and regional fare such as Spicy Chicken Wings with Sweet Chili Sauce and Summer Palace Steamed Chicken Shrimp Har Kow will be served. Of course, there will also be pastries and cakes, among them the Grand Marnier Crème Brûlée, zabayon-filled éclairs, Mini Mince Pies with Berry Compote and the Exotic Christmas Log Cake.
Christmas Day
Give your taste buds a treat with Basilico's brunch menu, which includes seafood, caviar, antipasti, homemade pasta, rotisserie meats, wood-fired pizza, cheeses and desserts (S$118++ per person, S$198++ with free flow of beer, wine and Pol Roger and Mumm champagne). And if your little ones tag along, they can enjoy spaghetti, pizza, hot dogs and cookies at the Children's Corner at S$59++ per child (five to 12 years old); the Tea Lounge's Afternoon Buffet will still be available on Christmas Day.
